So my dilemma is my ever-growing collection of cookbooks. Not a bad complaint to have, really. I’ve always stuck with favourite tried and true recipes, but haven’t been as brave as I’d like, especially considering my collection. I decided that for my New Year’s Resolution I would aim to make a new recipe every week. The catch being I would have to share it with someone and document my adventure in some way. Despite being technically challenged I’ve decided to drag my ass into 2011 and try my hand at a blog, figuring it would be the easiest way to share my cooking and baking adventures with the friends who’ve shared my food. With that said, I’ve come very close this evening to flicking my laptop out the window and into my snowy cul-de-sac, but I will persevere, I will make it pretty, and I’ll try not to make too much of a fool of myself.
I’ve been cooking pretty steadily for a month now and I’ll try to get the photos and recipes up this week. I usually have friends over for meals or treats every couple of weeks or so, but this year, to ensure a new recipe shared with at least one person once a week, I’ve compiled an email list of good friends who I see all the time and pals who I don’t get to see very often, or maybe don’t know very well. If it’s a new week and I haven’t fed anyone, I’ll email everyone on the list, tell them what I’m making and how many people I can feed. Whoever’s available calls me up and I send out another email letting everyone know when the little red kitchen is full…
So here goes….
